We've closed the curtain on Random Acts of Cheddar...

100% of Profits go to our Farmers For the past two years, we've been roaming the country (and the interwebz) to help our 1,200 farm families randomly bestow the gift of the World's Best Cheddar and say "thanks" for all the great work that you do in your community. And we've been honored, not only to meet over 120,000 people but also, to receive countless thanks in return!

Because one good turn deserves another, we're moving on to greener pastures and exploring new ways that our Cabot farmers can say thank you for purchasing our award-winning products.

Our pledge to you? The next act will be even better!

And the beginning of the end...
by RAOC Team
What began this season in late September, last, in Clearwater, FL, ended this late April in Crystal River and 'The Villages', FL. Our "Random Acts of Cheddar", southern style, ended this week with a most wonderful visit to the Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River (see RAOC blog) and a visit to the new VA Out Patient Clinic in "The Villages"...a most unique area of Florida covering parts of three separate counties. On reflection, having visited virtually every area of Florida, and much of central and eastern Alabama, I met with thousands of people who truly care about their communities and the people that share those same communities. It leads this man to believe that there is a great deal more good in these United States than most media would have you believe. It has been a warm and wondrous 7 month trip for me. Hope you all enjoyed some of what we all shared, and I hope to re-visit some of you beginning late next September.

Second Photo of VA Outpatient Clinic..
by RAOC Team
When I got far enough away from the VA Clinic for my camera to include it all in one picture it was too small...so I took two separates shots.

Every day, some how...
by RAOC Team
I cannot pick a specific date, or year, or even the decade when my over-all point of view modified to accept that "Life Be GOOD" is a great place to be. I rarely get angry (occasionally, but I can't remember the last time) and I'm not sure I even know what 'stress' is anymore. I've lived in 46 places, I travel a lot, and I've been interacting with hundreds of different folks every month for quite some time. I am no "Pollyanna" but I enjoy most all I do and most all folks I meet.
I've spent the majority of this week in the New Port Richey, FL area and I met nothing but good people doing good things...gonna miss ya'll. Closing out this week a bit north and east. See ya'll tomorrow.

The New Port Richey area....
by RAOC Team
Yesterday and today are the first two days I've ever spent in the Port Richey and New Port Richey areas of Florida and I found that with the restaurants offered and ease of travel and the pure scenic beauty of the area it's hard to find a more beautiful spot to settle in. I've attached a photo of the 'back yard' of the West Pasco County Chamber of Commerce as an example (87 degrees), located in New Port Richey. Wonderful people, these 'new natives'.

"And the first" day of the new week...
by RAOC Team
What began as a four-month program in 2009 has become a nearly seven-month long most excellent interaction in 2010 and 2011. I began this final week heading south on Highway 19, toward northern Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Holiday, and both Port Richey and New Port Richey. It was a very good start for a Monday. Biggest surprise, and a most pleasant one, was New Port Richey with 5 separate VA facilities....and Weeki Wachee with its veterinarians. I'll be heading back down to both Port Richeys tomorrow morning because there were sooo many deserving folks left "uncheddared", then on to Spring Hill, Brooksville, Inverness and Wildwood to close out the week. "Cheddar" ya'll then.
